ACTIVITY BASE
#04 WAKKA TOMARIACTIVITY BASE
Port as a base for activities
ACTIVITY BASE
WAKKA TOMARI is the base port for activities.
It is the starting point for canoes, kayaks, and motorboats, and is also the starting point for bicycle rentals.
A good point for trout fishing spreads out before your eyes, and you can also enjoy a footbath while watching swans in the open-air bath next door.
Appearance
WAKKA TOMARI has a red exterior.
This color was chosen because this place was once called Akayu(red hot water). Even from a boat or kayak floating on the lake, WAKKA TOMARI's distinctive red building shape is clearly recognizable.
Garage
A total of 11 boats, kayaks, and canoes are stored here, along with lots of fishing gear, electric bicycles, snowshoes, and other snow play items.
There is also a large sink for processing your catch.
About Activities
Lake Kussharo has many activities available.
You can enjoy quiet time on the lake in a canoe or kayak, cruise around the magnificent lake in a motorboat, or enjoy water sports in your own favorite style.
Trout fishing is the most popular activity, where you can enjoy the strong pull of a big fish.
During the snow season, visitors can explore the surrounding forest with snowshoes in search of deer and Ezo red fox.
CANOE
You can enjoy an extraordinary time on a canoe that moves slowly along with the clear current of the Kushiro River.
If you look into the amazingly clear and clean water, you can find big trout.
If you float your canoe on the lake, you can enjoy fishing for these big fish.
BOAT
WAKKA TOMARI has 23-foot and 20-foot motorboats.
These boats allow you to get a close-up view of the deer playing on the middle island and to see the waterweed forests near the Amemasu River, which flows into the northernmost part of the lake, from above.
You can also rent an electric boat, which does not require a boat license, to enjoy trout fishing at good spots around the Ikenoyu.
PLAYING
